Thompson’s Crisis Stabilization Program was there when Chris needed help

Chris loves music, skate boarding, video games, taking walks and desires to enter the military. He was getting into trouble for destruction of property, threats of harm to self and others, significant substance abuse, and being a negative peer influence. His constant challenging behavior, and unwillingness to change had become too much for his parents, they were at the end of their patience and no longer wanted him living at home.

 

Chris was one of the first clients admitted to our Crisis Stabilization Program at Kenan Cottage. Chris quickly displayed natural leadership skills within the cottage, and made so much progress, his parents’ stance changed to wanting him to return home with supports. He was discharged into our Family Centered Treatment (FCT), High Fidelity Wrap, and Substance Abuse Outpatient Treatment. Since discharge, Chris reports no illegal substance use and looks forward to his scheduled FCT sessions.
