Savannah is part of the Friends of the Children – Charlotte program. Her mentor quickly stepped up to call a community partner meeting with her school to discuss the attendance problem. They ensured the school was aware of Savannah’s family situation, identified resources that would help the family, and resolved the transportation issue. Savannah has since had perfect attendance and caught up on missed work. Her mentor has also initiated School-Based Therapy for Savannah and her sibling to help them identify and use the tools they need to thrive.
