Friends of the Children – Charlotte give Lisa’s whole family the support they need

Lisa loves to experience new things, she is interested in learning new things, visiting new places, and trying new foods. Lisa is insecure about her appearance and struggles to feel accepted by her peers. She frequently questions relationships, her cultural background, and other environments. Lisa was born and raised in Charlotte, and lives with her mother and older brother. Her father is also very present in her life; both parents are supportive of Lisa and encourage her to try new ideas and strive to be her best self.

Lisa is part of the Friends of the Children – Charlotte program and her mentor encourages Lisa to be confident, determined, and proud of who she is and who she will become. They work on the importance of feeling like you belong to help you thrive. Her family appreciates the additional support Lisa receives and regularly attend family engagement events. The feel very positive about the program and voice their praise for our commitment. Lisa has grown in every aspect and is becoming quite mature in her outlook.
