Prevention, Family and Communities: How to Implement a Radical Shift in Child Welfare
In conjunction with Jody Grutza of Grutza Consulting, LLC, THompson hosted a webinar to discuss how states, counties and providers can move towards a broad radical shift in child welfare, utilizing the Family First Prevention Services Act implementation as one vehicle to get there.
During the webinar Children’s Bureau Associate Commissioner, Jerry Milner, lays out details on how a national update on Family First will be provided and then ideas on Public and private partnerships are discussed in by child welfare leaders from Arkansas and North Carolina.
Child welfare leaders included in the discussion were Page Walley with Saint Francis Ministries, Mischa Martin, Director of the Division of Children and Family Services at Arkansas Department of Human Services, Dr. Jacqueline O. McKnight, Deputy Director of Child & Family Services at Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services and Will Jones, from Thompson Child & Family Focus.
